My first read-through is always about "the obvious stuff."
- Spelling
- Grammar
- Punctuation
- Usage of they're/their/there, it's/its, etc.
- Capitalization
- Overall flow
Then, there's the not so obvious issues.
- Biblical accuracy (Both in referencing and in context)
- Citations and credits ("A famous person once said," should be, "Martin Luther once said.")
- Audience appropriateness (We don't go into details about graphic accidents, for example.)
The first issues are sometimes corrected and not sent back to the author before we post. It depends on how many changes are made. The second issues are always addressed - even if it delays the article for a week. That's how we edit GGFG's writer's articles!
